Sorry, I only read the post where you said you were backing up an incline and had to give it more gas than usual. I have a long inclined driveway and in reverse if I go too fast get some weird **** from my truck.

Just a thought, could it possibly be your ABS kicking in??? I know you just swapped to those bigger tires and made some adjustments... I believe you can test this by yanking the ABS fuse and then try backing up in reverse.... I dunno if that will work or even if it is the problem but worth a test...

when you put it in reverse your engine flexes the other way as it's trying to make the driveshaft spin opposite. I'm willing to bet it's a heat shield or your headers rubbing. That's all it can be.

Something was mentioned about the u-joints, i dont think its them because they usually clunk when you put it in gear.
The motor will try to torque opposite ways from reverse to drive, ie the drive shaft is trying to turn different ways. How does the trans fluid look, any metal debri? I seriously doubt the reverse drum is cracked, if that were the case the band would be burnt and you wouldn't have 2-4 gears. And I have never seen it happen. It is possible that the splines on the input drum have worn down, causing the spline on the clutch to chatter and spin on the drum. Or the snap ring has came out for the reverse input clutches. Come by the house and I can drive it if you want.

i think i got it fixed guys. me and chase ripped the heat shield out and the noise drastically went away to almost gone. those aem headers just dont fit good at all. now im going to cut the studs off that was holding the shield on and see if that fixes it completely.
