4wd all the time for me, unless i want to show off by making a smoke show.

i droped mine 3" in the rear and about 1.25 in the front.

the rear was by taking out the lift blocks(2") and then shackles(1")

the front was by triming the bump stops and loosing the tortion bars. not really sure about handeling and all that, i wanted 4wd but not the stink bug look. have you guys seen a 4wd RCSB , my car back in high school didn't have as much rake as that thing

And ANYONE that says a 4x4 won't handle well can feel free to try and follow me through the twistys some time

where did you get the 2" drop keys? would those be the same keys that you could use to raise the truck 2". because my buddy is getting those for his Z71. do you have any pics of your truck?

gator's 99TA:
im 19 on my second year of college and i just asked a simple question just like the rest of the people on this site and i get you that tells me to sell and buy a 2wd. thats not helping me. but that is done and over i dont really care. and i ment about the both worlds is that it can look good low and still go places, i didn't mean that a 4wd handles any better. and are you talking about me driving in 4wd or parish. if its me i dont drive in 4wd unless i get stuck in the winter, which rarely happen seeing as the truck sits in the garage and i drive my ranger (its a lot more fun in the winter the the Z71).

The drop keys are Belltech and the hanger/shackle is GroundForce....you can buy the whole kit from Belltech pretty cheap. the Drop keys ARE NOT the same as Lift keys....

There are two spindles, one for stock wheels and one for 17" or larger. The one for stock wheels would require changing the lower ball joint, for rim clearance, I would think.

Here's my lowered Z71, I got Mcgaughy drop spindles and Belltech torsion bar keys in the front and took out the lift blocks and installed Belltech's lowering shackles in the rear. I'm going to install some new hangers in the back this week so it will sit level.

I'g go for the Mc Gaughy's spindles, the spindles are the best way to lower a vehicle it retains your stock a-arm geometry. the price is pretty affordable. I need to take some pics of my burb but its got the Mc gaughy's 2-3 drop on it.
