Stoichiometric, thank you for the information. I will check out a couple vans for the correct throttle body.

Try holdencrazy.com for the operating system with the cable throttle. You can use any of the calibrations there with EFI live.

i was wondering the same thing but going cable actuated in my '06. Mostly because a potential 90mm setup that's just easier to run a cable, and the motor would probably go into a project car eventually.

what would we have to do to keep cruise control? anyone familiar with this?

I think it would be easiest to use a 01-02 pcm and run it that way....

jsburkey21, is this a project car or a new style silverado? Are you stuck with the 04 pcm or is that the one you are going to use because its all you got?

If you have a cable bin just copy your tune to it and do a full write.... I have some bin files if you need them....

To use drive by cable you need a 02 or older PCM, or there is one 04 PCM (I don't know the service number off hand) that the 04 GTO's and other later model vehicles with Cable TB have. The rest of the 03+ PCM, don't have a driver for the IAC.

I can set you up with EFILive and it can be used to do the programing you need.

Thank you everyone for the information, it has been very helpful.

I am leaving right now to pick up the 04 motor and will look for an 01-02 pcm to go with it. Now all i need is a good wiring diagram and or a good person to send the wiring harness to so it can be chopped down.

To answer your question about vehicle application: The motor is going into a 1979 Jeep CJ7 rock crawler.

I just remembered, G.M changed the PCM plugs in 03 to you would have to convert your harness, or as KB said find a bin file from a a GTO... I think it woulld be wise for you to look into to tuning software. a conversion like that would be made much easier if you could turn on/off codes and flash files....
