Default LS1 TB vs LQ4 TB

Some one asked me today if i knew where a good place to get a LQ4 Cable Throttle body. He said on his 98 Camaro LS1/M6 that his TB is a 75mm and the Truck LQ4 TB is a 80mm. For some reason he wants a LQ4 TB..

I got confused so i didnt know if he was correct.

Dont the Trucks have 80mm?

LS2s have 90mm??

Help me out guys!
4.8,5.3,6.0s all have 80mm right? or is it 78mm??

LS2, LS6,LS7 have 90mm??

List what ya know so i can help my buddy.

Thanks guys!!!

well i bought a 80 mm from a corvette and it ran like crap. you need to be tuned to run something bigger. and especailly if he has not installed an ls6 manifold

i believe only aftermarkets are 80mm

the ls2/ls7 are 90mm but i think all others are 78mm

and no tuning with a larger tb is not good

This guys is scared to get it tuned, but he wants to put all these mods on there. I cant get it through his dumb head that any changes to the motor needs to be accompanied with a correct tune.

Tune=
No Tune=

i think ALL gm lsx TBs are 78mm EXCEPT the ls2 and ls7 TBs

im 95% sure on this

i think the only 80mm is the aftermarket TB made by BBK ( im sure their are other companies that make that size but you know what i mean)
