Default making a light weight aluminum bed cover.

ive been thinking, ive always wanted a bed cover, but i still have not found any that i like, or i find some but there entirely way to heavy, so i was thinking, what about making a very flush bed cover out of thin aluminum that fastens down using those dzus fasteners. im not sure how i would make it weather tight,. but i just want something that when your looking from the back or side you cant tell it has a bed cover until you walk up on it. i sole purpose of it is to hide my fuel cell, battery , and nitrous bottles.

put some 90* angle aluminum along the bed rails and front of the bed and tailgate with the dzus clips in them and then have a sheet of aluminum thats been bead rolled for rigidity with a piano hinge or two so you can still access the bed laying over the 90* pieces.... should be pretty easy with the right tools

the only expensive part is a solid sheet of aluminum that size. And if its thin, its going to have to be reinforced because the wind will cause it to buffet making alot of noise.

We have a sheet metal shop at work with plasma cutter. I might give this a try since the fasteners is prob all I'd have to pay for and my bed is step side which should be pretty damn easy.
