Default In the market for a new truck...

I am currently shopping for a new truck and would like a truck that will not have a problem hauling 4 to 5 people comfortably, haul a trailer with a 3500 lb. car, and a bed full of tools and parts.

What would yall get if these were the things that influenced your decision???

Depending on your budget....I have a 2001 Silverado 2500 HD with the 8.1 liter big block...340 hp ..... capable of towing almost 15,000 lbs ! plus has extended cab with 4 doors, fits 5 adults comfortably.....and it rides great, handles well and sits lower than Ford F250, makes parking in parking decks easy, even though it is 4WD

Sounds nice...

Is it a 4 door or just an extended cab???

How does the 4 x 4 work??? Is it shift on the fly 4 x 4???

Mine is an extended cab with 4 doors, the rear doors are hidden, but you can get it with a crew cab and 4 true doors... the 4x4 is shift on the fly, has a posi rear for the rear diff.; mods to come in the near future

I went with a '02 2500HD, 8.1/Allison, crew cab, 4x4. I love this truck, it can handle anything I'll ever throw ar it. 340 HP, 455 torque goes along way. Can't wait to get my new trailer, so I can really put the HD to use

Looked at an Avalanche?

Here is mine. Truck? got it covered.
SUV? more than covered.

This thing is OVER engineered. I mean so many little things....self dimming mirrors, an alarm when the turn signal has been on too long, power EVERYTHING standard, HUGE towing capacity, It can carry 6 adults... easy. The back seats are HUGE, larger than the front seats for shear room...CD= standard, Power seats= standard, 5.3 standard, HUGE tires and wheels= standard, an AWERSOME smooth ride, an errie silent cabin, towing package included in the Z66 "on road" package, window tint and theft alarm = standard.

This thing once you start looking at it... is so fine. I mean they thought of everyting.

Carlos... i REALLY like this new truck/SUV.

Here are some pics...

If you need to haul alot, I would highly recommend the HD2500. It is the nicest truck you can buy when you get it loaded up with options, and it will easily handle any job you throw at it. Try to get the 496 and allison 5spd auto, it is unbelievable the amount of grunt that combo has. The extended cab is alot of room, but the crew cab has the same rear seat room as a suburban. The rear seat also folds down to make a large storage area for items you don't want to leave in the bed. The factory tonneau cover is also a nice option. Like someone else stated, the truck is not quite as tall as the ford, which is nice for the wife and kids as well as getting in the parking decks and such. I absolutely love mine and I have had all three models(ford dodge and chevy) this truck is in a league of it's own. Good luck with your choice, and jump on some of this 0% interest before it's gone, it's not a gimmick and will save you a ton of money.

My mind is made up on the 8.1L or Duramax diesel Crew Cab 2500HD 4 x 4.

I just got to wait for this turnaround to finish up.

Hey John, have ya ever worked a 125 day turnaround???

I started one today...

Mod money, truck money, and house money on it's way...
