Methano injection question
there is methanol injection for turbo engines and prolly supercharged engines to suppress detonation.does anybody know if there is a system for naturally aspirated engines to use when they start to detonate.be nice if you could connect it into the knock sensor system to come on automatically.

I agree, by the time the detonation has started it will is a little late to try and control it. However as far as there being systems available, yes there have been kits such as water injection kits around forever that could probably be mixed with a methanol/water mixture or just adapt a regular methanol injection kit to your ride. GM even had a factory water/methanol injection system on their turbo charged Oldsmobiles in the '60's.

Snow Performance has a kit for N/A based on the MAF signal. They have a control unit that can be adjusted for when to come on and how much flow. I put a one of their kits in a Camaro. It works great.

WOW !! thanks fellas. maybe that will allow ya to run alittle extra compression and get some more power without the detanation.hate to find out the hard way by hammering the bearings out or busting a piston if its severe enough tho.
