Mileage Correction Sticker or Cluster Reprogram
Not sure what my options are at this point, but I need to get my mileage officially corrected one way or another.
I recently swapped to an escalade cluster that had 45k miles on it. My truck had over 100k. I've heard once the cluster has miles on it, it can't be re-programmed.
I've also heard about the mileage correction sticker.
Do I have any other options at this point? I'm trying to get my truck registered outside of Texas so I don't have to worry about inspections and it's going to throw up a big red flag when my cluster shows 70k miles less than what my truck has.
Also called the local dealership and he told me it couldn't be done, although he didn't seem very knowledgeable.
To whomever merged my old thread, it was not helpful. The bulletin was for 03+ vehicles and clusters with 0 miles on them

Badass thanks man. That's exactly what I was looking for. Do you know if it actually has to be installed by a GM tech or can I do it myself? The original instrument cluster is 400 miles away at my folk's house and I won't be able to get to it for a while.

You can have a GM dealer send the cluster to an AC Delco Repair Center and they have the means to re-set the cluster back to zero. They then ship it back to the dealer and we program the milage at the dealership. If you have a buddy or a hook up in a local dealer, that would be your out on that one. Most dealers are a little fickle about this. We are more flexible than we should be sometimes but, hey....keeping customers happy means repeat bsuiness. Just shy away from Bill Heard, they're going under plus they're a dick!

^^^^ wise man, I did it, took my new SS and old cluster to my dealer, they fix the miles/hours(took about a week) and log the new cluster # in there system and also sent a notice to the state about the change. It was 3 years ago about $80
You can see the new cluster in this pic
