Default ...More Engine Swap ?s 5.3 to LS1

Noob here, I am gonna try to make this short.
I have a 2001 Silverado 4WD Z71. Currently has a 5.3L with a 4L60e. 218k on the clock and it seems to be getting pretty tired.

I have found a guy locally with a
04 GTO (aluminum) LS1 that had 29k on it. Trans Am 853 heads (ill prob ditch these), crank, rods, pistons, lifters, GTO cam, 29# injectors, Front and rear covers, Timing setup, Knock sensors with cover and harness. For 500$

My ?s are...prob like everyone else... Would this LS1 bolt to my trucks 4L60E with no spacers or anything? I know the GTO motor is a GenIII just not sure on crankshaft lengths between the two motors, or what all is different.

Is the tuning aspect "easy"? easy being, can I send a PCM to be flashed for the goat motor and it still run everything in my truck as if it were stock?

Motor Mounts im guessing are the same but not 100%

As far as air and fuel delivery, which intake mani should I use that has the same sensors and everything, Would like to run the gto or a camaro intake mani if i could.

And if anyone could gimme a few different engines that are clean swaps incase this deal falls thru that would be great. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank Alot

In order: yes, yes, yes, and you would probably want to keep the truck manifold if you tow, or go off road at all, it will give you a much better bottom end over the car manifold. Pretty much any GEN III engine will swap right in directly, all you'll need is a tune to make it work right.

Slammed96, I appreciate your fast reply! thanks alot... my truck will prob never see mud, I live right on the beach so that is about as dirty as its gonna get. lol but im glad to hear I can use my 5.3 manifold because I will probably tow a car to and from the track. Was thinkin about a decent cam, headers, some other bolt ons... Any suggestions on a good tuner? I emailed Charlie Wheatley about my plans so just waiting to hear back from him.

your gonna have to use the truck motor mounts.. but everything else is gonna be swapped from the 5.3..

Do ~ a 212/218 low or a 218/222 ish cam with some headers and a good torque converter and you will be set.

Ok I will look into the 243 heads and cam...as far as a converter goes how big should I go... My truck has a 12'' lift and 4.56s on 35s. After I figure out the motor and everything I was gonna freshen the trans anyway

The 212/218 will work fine without a converter, I have that and some LT's on the truck in my sig, and it pulls a trailer with no problem. A converter will wake it up for sure though.

As far as tuners, all of the sponsors on here have good reputations. Pretty much just pick whoever you feel most comfortable with.
