Default Mr. Clean AutoDry

anyone used this product yet to wash the truck? i bought one a few weeks ago. i haven't taken it out of the box yet. it has a built in filter that removes water impurities that cause hard water stains. the filter is only supposed to last after 3 washings. not sure if this product is a gimmick. but i thought i would give it a try since the water here is WHORErendous. the water spots from the hard water still are on the clearcoat even after a washing. i try to dry it as soon as i am finished but sometiimes that is a PITA. right now there are still salt on the roads, so i will probably wait to test the product when the weather is nicer and spring is here for good

Did you happen to see the price for the filter replacements? If it's the same thing they use in the car washes here, they are expensive as hell. If the water is bad, the filter won't last long though. They have to be really fine filters that catch a lot of junk. Since they have lots of junk to catch, they fill up quick.

sounds like they go through the soap alot. the filter that comes with the package last 3 washings it says on the box. i guess hte replacement filters last 5-10 washings. i am sure i wouldn't use this device ALL the time. probably only for detailing and if i expect the weather to be perfect for a long time. if it is just to get salt or mud off my truck, i'll use just regular H2O

I just bought the starter kit and used it on my moms Altima. In order to save the filter I first washed it like normal then did the instruction for the Auto Drys system fairly quick not really worried about the soap and such. Then I used the auto dry. I was very impressed with it. We won't be using it on most of our cars but will definatley use it on the truck because with the crew cab + bed cover + HD 4x4 it's impossible to clean the roof. So now we will just be using the autodry system. The replacement filters are like $5 and they last about 10 washes along with the extra soap which lasts about 10 washes and is like $6. If you have trouble drying your truck or you have a dark color and have trouble with water spots I would definatley recomend it. I foun my kit at Autozone for $20 and then I saw it at Walmart for like $21.

I used mine on my GMC, It seems to take alot longer if you follow the directions. The windows still need to be wipped down but I have mine rainXed so it might conflict. For the most part it helps cut down on drying process but on My black GMC I still need to dry it. I usually pop out my Stihlk 200mph Leaf blower and that usually does the trick.
I do think the filter is great especially my house has very hard water.
But as far as drying goes I take the end off my hose and let the full stream of water run over the paint and that helps cut down on drying also.
