Lightbulb Cam choice!

alright, having a terrible time deciding which cam to go with...

Choices...
TSP Torquer V.2 (232/234 .595/.598 112)
TSP Magic Stick V.3 (237/242 .603/.609 112)
TSP Magic Stick V.4 (239/242 .649/.609 111 or 112?)

I like the fact that the torquer has a broader power band (1800-6400) but am I really gonna notice it? Also lovin the gains of the MS3 and 4, with the MS3 being a record holder on a Z28 w/ cam and heads on a stock bottom.

Also found a 4" crank on Summit Racing for $650... would it be worth it or would I have some clearance issues and need to change me heads or something? Thanks guys

It might be easier to have a shop clean and hone the block to clean it up, Even on a budget i would have the block checked out. Then if you get a newer crank. Maybe even a nice deal on some rods and pistons you would have yourself a nice freshened up 6.0.

depends on how bad the damage is. like others have said, take it to a machine shop and get the cylinders bored or honed would probably be your best bet. it will be faster and it will be like new again.

I was told to run the Torquer you need 11 compression or higher.

my pistons and rods cost 800 bucks (mahle flat top pistons and H Beam rods) and the machine work i had done was 800 bucks, thats includings bearings, plugs, machine work, file fitting the rings, polish the crank and put the bottom end together, i traded my nitrous kit for some ls6 heads and had them milled .030 and now i have 11.x compression ratio. with my cam in my sig it screams pretty good

well bad news boys... block is messed up in side. Not cracked or anything but dirty. I donno what happened but Ill chalk it up to the 2 blown head gaskets

I got both heads off and cleaned up the bores as best as I thought I could. got the crank to turn freely as well. Pistons soome fine and nothing seems broken, just really dirty and now its pretty legit. Cam is still kinda fubar from the coolant seepage on in and I ended up getting almost all the lifters out and looked at em. I think to be safe Ill replace the lifters. Timing chain is fubar as well. Now Im kicking myself for selling my lifters a while ago and my timing chain traded for some sport mirrors last week, haha all well

so maybe if I get a buddy to help me out I can either get a bitchin deal on honing my cylinders or maybe he'll trade me blocks since he's gonna have his bored anway haha
we'll see how it goes. Ill post up some pics later if anyones interested but Im all done for the night, put the motor back together kinda bummed out but if it takes longer and more money then thats just how it goes.

i wouldnt mess with all that. its got a longer crank, iron heads, major sludge/dirt, you definitley didnt get a good deal on that engine. you should take it back and tell him he's a liar and the engine is **** and go pick up a 01+ 6.0 pullout with aluminum heads and the right size crank to bolt up to your 60e, and sell the parts you dont need.. it sounds like you kinda dived into this one without all the research...

BTW theres complete 6.0s where i live for $700
