My NNBS impressions

My NNBS impressions
Ok here is the story, my work truck (F450) is in the shop for repairs so the dealer gave me a 08 Siverado as a loaner. Its the first NNBS I have driven. Its a ECSB 4+4 4.8L with 3.42 rear. So far I am rather dissapointed, the mileage seems pretty shitty considering the lack of get up and go. It has no nuts unless you put it too the floor. I like the brakes they are very responsive and the steering is nice it feels like a more aggressive steering ratio. I like the new guage cluster, big and easy to read yet tastefull IMO. I am not a fan of the radio controls at all. For being so slow it sure does like to spin allot ( open rear diff.) its been rainy so I found myself using autotrac allot. Maybe I am just too used to my AWD. There is allot of room under the hood for mods It seems to ride about the same as my truck, maybe a bit softer then mine. ( but mine is lowered some with 20's) So anyway for anyone whom is interested that is my take on the NNBS trucks.

I gotta disagree with the poor gas mileage, my dad has a new ecsb 4x4 with the 4.8 and it get very decent mileage, averages 15 litres per 100kms not sure the mpg and thats like 90% city driving, also its gutless because of the shat loads of torque management, I think they boosted the amount of torque management on the NNBS, then again your use to driving a 6.0 with a ton of mods VS a bonestock 4.8

I know they have a **** load of TM, also the PE delay in the tune is something retarded like 4 or 5 sec plus 5k rpm min. As to the fuel mileage I would say based on my estimate its got like 15-16mpg and thats been mostly highway. Hell my truck gets that, mine also has 4.10 gears. Difference is mine gets like 8-9mpg city, where as I bet this 4.8 gets alot better in the city.

Its the tune. They went very conservative on it. I guess so they didn't' eat transmission cost on the 100,000 mile warranty's! But I liked the ride on the new trucks but hated the HVAC controls as well as the radio, I had to look away from the road to adjust things and they were small.
