Default My truck is a heavy pig.

Well i went to the landfill today and got the truck weighed. It is a 2000 ext cab 2wd and weighed in at 4920. That is with a 200 lb plus sub box in though. At the same scale my 1997 ext cab Z-71 weighed in at 4700 with a fairly large sub box in also. My 1988 reg cab 2wd only weighed in at less than 4200( can't remember the exact number). This newfound knowledge makes the 5.3 all the more impressive. It pulls damn near 5k lbs around very quickly. Now I just have figure out how to get a 5.3 or even a 4.8 into a 1987 Mazda B2000. I figure with a truck sub 3000 lbs, I should be able run off sub 6 sec 0-60's with a stock engine and with the right gearing knock down 20+ MPG.

4920 sounds pretty good for an Xcab. Good luck with the Mazda B2000 project. I know their is a kit to make it easy to swap an lsx motor into a old rx7 so kindof the same concept.

Ha, HA, HA

Join the club! I drive a 5200 lb brick. My goal is to get the 0-60 down to 4 seconds one day. Currently at 5.5
