Anybody know anybody...or happen to have a 2500 - 3500 with the 8.1 Vortec and MANUAL trans?

I need a VIN from this set up to program my 8.1 that will be in a 69 Covette with a Richmond Six.

I have found tons of auto trans models, but no luck yet on the manual.

If you have this...please shoot me a PM - the VIN will only be used to have the GM cal pack loaded in my PCM for the intial tune.

I think as long as it is a drive by wire - standard shift - 8.1, it will be okay. The harness is set to run as a 2002 style silverado - we have to make some minor changes to the harness. The throttle body is the 2003 and up single plug design, but I have the jumper harness to convert to the two plug earlyier model.

I could be wrong, but I think all the 8.1's were drive by wire. Anyways, here's some links to some I found on Autotrader, just borrow the VIN from there.

Neil...great info...and I never thought about Autotrader.

I can't open autotrader at work - so will do some more search.

I just talked to the programmer - to make the harness and computer work, I need to find a 2002 or older 8.1 - so now the field gets really small. The newer ones use a 1 meg system that is different and he can't load the service pack.

Yep...the first and last one there are 2001 - ALL IS GOOD!!!!!!!

Old thread, But I had a similar issue. But i needed the TAC module gas pedal etc. So I just went with a megasquirt set up
