Default new tranny, track times, and problems

so last Friday i drove out to HRP, to get some new times with the flt4 and tt3000. on the way up there i noticed my volt meter was going nuts shaking wildly and from 10 volts to 15volts. but my radar detector has a volt meter build in and was reading fairly steady so i thought maybe my cluster was going out. but **** it lets get some times. I now hate HRP got there at 7:00 got 3 runs in by closing time at 12:00, waited in line the whole time.
previously my best track time was 15.00 at 94mph with a damn 2.5 sec 60'.
first run with new tranny/tc: full tire pressure(BFG G-force KDWs 285-60-18) no burn out got on it fairly hard, spun my *** of, ran 16.01.
Second run: 15 pounds in the tires, burn out. hooked well but to soft of the line 15.10.
Third run: 15pounds, burn out, got on it hard, spun a little 2.22 60' ET14.6@96mph.
feeling good, get down the track notice one hid turned off, and im holding steady at 10 volts. pull up in the lot and turn the truck off, and wont start. some dudes let me use there big *** battery charger for about 20 minutes and i make it home on optima red top alone.
next day take alternator off have it tested at auto zone and it passes WTF. I go over all the grounds and other connections everything is fine. so i take a screw driver to the old alternator and make it fail, then upgrade to a 130amp for a suburban. solved the electrical issues, that alternator was bad but passed there damn test thing...i dont understand.

sorry for the long *** post if you’ve made it this far i have some questions and thoughts for improving my times.
slicks on stock wheels+G80=?
with a good launch i think i could pull off a 1.90 60' and a low 14 in the 1/4.
plan was 4.10s or 3.90s for next mod, but im afraid i wont catch any traction. But the 3.23s have to go! so now im thinking slicks, trutrack, and 3.73s will be my best bet, to put me in the mid 13's( The ultimate goal for my truck)
i feel like im so close to my goal, yet so broke...

do you have any wheel hop? ive seen that a few times help out with times a little but definately hooking up and 60ft times. adjustable ones are nice to play around with different settings, a 100 shot would get you closer to your mid 13 range that your looking for

There is no way you are going to get a 1.9 60' running a mid 14 second pass.

This is not the first time I have heard someone say they thought the alternator was bad, but the test passed.

The regulator (part of the alternator) was bad for the V to vary like that.

That 2.5 60' was what my stock turd did at the track on its way to a 16.12 at 87.38 .

I would think So. I have run a 13.8 on DRs and I had some traction issues. Have you dropped the truck? If so have you ever checked your pinion angle? If it is thrown off traction will be hard to get. If you get your pinion angle fixed, Some slicks, 3.90s and a trutrac if you cant hit mid 13s Ill be surprised.
Youll probably haft to put the truck on a diet and be in GREAT conditions to do it though.

The alternator problem could have affected your performance also, since the alt wasn't charging the system and you were running below 12 volts, you may have had a weak spark leading to an incomplete burn.

i have'nt droped it because i heard that would **** up the pinion angle, plus i think i like the stock stance.

i want to go back to the track soon now that i have the altenator problem worked out. with a few more runs i think i can get into the low 14s as is.
and maybe some weight reduction tailgate, hitch, backseat, sub box, spare, and see what that dose for me.

if i were to gets some DRs before the gears and trutrak, do you think the g80 would explode?
