New truck! to me anyways. Auto cal questions
Few weeks back bought a 99' Chevy Silverdao Z71 5.3 4x4 on the cheep. Since then replaced all front suspesion items put a 6" lift and 35" tires on it, Volant power core CAI.,Borla cat back should be in soon, And 4.56 gears are going in next week.
I ordered an Auto cal from black bear but not sure if im setting it up right need some help there. been waiting almost a week on a email response. Dose a regular data log do the same as capturing your stock tune? Basicaly i dont want to hit the wrong button and wipe it. There was a different tuner i had for a different vehicle that would happen on.
Would eventualy like to do a cam but need to do research there. And Electric fans need to find a write up for that.

the only way youd cause an issue is if your battery died mid flash, you unhooked the cable or tried to start it mid flash.
when you do your very first data log and send it to him
he sends you back 2 files
1 stock
and then your tune.
I kept mine in seperate folders on my computer just to avoid any potential of every over writing it or something
PS
be patient with them, they're good, but slow AND they recently had some family concerns come up so Id imagine he's backed up

with my 05 i only used the nbs setting.
the transmission stuff is for the newer trucks where they have a 2nd box controlling the transmission.
oo and i also modified the logging file to capture the transmission temp to see what its running at.

if you have efi live scan and tune installed open it go to the left where the bbx options. then there a window pops up.
in the blue area chose the file that you will use to log your info. it should show a few things in the green window of different sensors its recording. now in the yellow area on the bottom there is a search bar. use that to search for the transmission temp. "TFTS".
drag that to the blue area and save it to the auto cal. you can also add the knock sensor to see how bad thats doing and i think each cylinder.
one last thing to note, you see that bar on the bottom of the green area? thats how much "room" it has for recording info. so you can only use so much.
once all done and data loged you would open the file and finde where it got the hottest. right now i think mine is only making it to 150º because i am using the tru-cool 40k
