The aluminized holds up pretty good until it is welded. If you buy an aluminized system they bolt right up and last quite a while. If you have one custom made the weld will be very rusty in a year or two and I've seen a lot of hangers break off within a year or two.

So form what you all are saying just go 304 or 316 SS and coat it.... can I even weld the aluminzed steel aerochambers to SS tubing? SSW has 304 chambered mufflers, but I've never heard them so I don't know if they have that aerochamber sound I want...

I jsut wonder if aluminzed steel will work if i coat it several times in high temp black paint

304 stainless is forever but is $$$ 409 is cheaper and will form a little rust but outlast aluminized big-time. I bought an alum. Gibson Super truck back in 02 when my truck was new and think I got 3yrs out of it. Went for the new Gibson in stainless and still going strong. Don't worry about that shiny lasting it won't, Have to polish that tip all the time.
