oil consumption,after 1500 miles????
i changed my oil in my truck and i reset my oil change light back to 100%.
after 1500 miles or so i have to add 1qt 1/2 and of coarse the light comes on telling me that it is low. then at 2000 miles it is telling me to change oil in
the truck. the truck does not smoke nor does it leave any puddles behind etc....
any ideas
thanks

Gives us some specs on the truck(Year, Engine size). I would recommend a catch can. It doesn't really solve the problem but it's better then letting your engine consume the oil though the intake. Just recently put one of my dad's truck and it's producing about 1/2 cup every 150-200 miles(think he needs a new PCV valve). Not a big fan of removing the PCV system.

no mods to the truck, its as stock as it was when it drove away from the dealer in 2001.
5.3 etc....
going to dealer and getting a "PCV" from the dealer and crossing fingers.

You probably already know this but there are two version of PCV valves. Fixed orifice and the type that rattle (forgot name). The fixed orifice is the newer version which they say works better but you'll still have trouble.

other than just tell them to just drive the tahoe and add oil as needed.

Cap off the pcv on the intake and throttle body (or right by it), Connect the two valve covers with a hose and run a metco twist in breather in the oil fill hole on the passenger cover, This will get rid of parasitic oil consumption, if it still consumes oil then it is rings or valve seals

AT about 80k on my 2000 5.3L I was using almost 2 quarts every 2000 miles and the low oil light would come on. I switched to Valvoline High Milage Oil and went from 5-30 to 10-30. No more oil loss. This also reduced over all engine noise.
