So whats up with the repair work??!!
You going to beat him up?? Thats smart, go to jail and still dont get your truck fixed....... You should have called the police and had his insurance company pay for it..

hhmmmmm.... maybe someone didnt read the circumstances of said incident. Let me give you some cliff notes
1. Kid side swipped his truck
2. Kid sped off
Did you catch all of that??
So, If I were the victim of someone sideswiping my vehicle and then fleeing the scene and had to chase that person down and was then faced with a physical confrontation am I to surmise that I will go to jail??
Sorry, thats not how it goes. How much experience do you have in said sitautions?? Ive had two experiences where the police where also called by myself. In both instances the other person was unable to walk away. The police helped them to the back of the cruiser. I then won both civil suits for damage. Thanks though.
Maybe you should reread my post. I congratulated him on handling himself very well and appropriately.

Dude If you hit me.....I would press so many charges on you (theoretically speaking)... Im not saying I wouldnt be pissed off..... I just would have called the police tell what he had done and let them handle it... technically all the kid had to say is that he didnt notice it.... i know that its like "Well how could he not notice that" well unless you have a video camera its not going to matter...... and actually I have, this man scrubbed the back fender of my suburban and kept going and I chased him down, and he apologized and said he did not know what he had done, and met me at the body shope and paid for all charges...... so it depends on what really happend, but You hit somebody without them threatining you, (for me) you would be in jail.....

Well this isnt going to go far. The way it was explained to me by numerous friends of mine who happen to be deputies, is that since that person has already commited a criminal act that basically its going to turn the arguement into a criminals side and the victims side. Not much of a contest. I have had the this happen to me with a car theif and a hit and run. As I said both times the person wasnt able to walk. In truth they did confront me as well. Both times the officer laughed with me and asked why I didnt rough them up a little more. Most of the time courts are going to side with victims that have carreers and no record as opposed to punk kids or dirtbag criminals. In any case I feel a little more comfortable in the fact that I have an experinced trial firm at the touch of a button where as people like this would be hard pressed to get a decent court appointed attorney.
Either way, as I said, you are a better man than I slowprocess.
My way of doing things has gotten things done that otherwise would not have been done.
Sorry for the novel.

Thanks, Greentahoe. Yeah, I wanted nothing more than to kill the guy until I actually got out and checked out my truck. Just from the way he hit me, I was sure the entire side was caved in. When I got out, I did a four over on my truck, and realized it did the two little scratches. It also didn't help having a little bastard teenager getting out apologizing his *** off. I got to thinking we all F#$k up every now and then. If the kid would have been drinking and did it, I would have been all over him. It was an accident, and by how little the scratches was on my mirror, he actually might not have known he really did hit me. I was just pissed I had to scale that curb on the other side of the road. I must have hit it at its lowest point, because it didn't even scratch up the underside of my front spoiler, and that thing is "low". I put the fear of God into that kid when I jumped out and headed his way. He knew he had F#$ked up, and he knew I was about to kick his ***, but I didn't... I bet he's a better driver... for a little while at least.

Due to the apparent prepubescent nature of this uneducated response I will make this my last post in this thread. On that note, do yourself and those you wish to have social interactions with in the future a favor. Take some sort of law class before you graduate high school. Good night.
