can't you just run it thru the radiator AFTER the cooler? Then it'll preheat the fluid, but never hotter than the radiator.

It just seems like the tranny would need to be hotter than 100?? But idk

If that was the case not one vehicle I own, or anyone else in this province owns would have a transmission in it...... because they would have failed due to cold. We only get maybe 5 months of the year that are warm and the rest are anything but.

It doesn't matter, period.

I put the keys in and let it idle for about an hour (got sidetracked and idled longer than planned). Trans temp was 140 when I came back and quickly cooled down to around 106 after a few minutes of driving. Shifted great (didn't romp on it to much). Will be doing this over the next few weeks sadly.. might be time to switch out my truck for the wife's ride.
Mine sits outside up here and I've seen the trans temp as low as -30 when I start it up... I definitely let it warm up for 15 minutes or so but it hasn't complained so far.

I'm using an Aeroforce Interceptor.

Your the reason i tell everbody to just skip the factory radiator cooler.
Ive seen it happen several times.
Water and ATF mixed arent exactly good for a transmission

I know this thread has kinda died. But I wanted to add something.

I was driving down the highway in my NNBS W/T, I went to check transmission temp after thinking about this thread, and to my surprise it read 100*... If GM didn't put a bypass in their transmission cooler, I fail to see why I need to.
