override the headlights
I have a 99 Silverado. When i start the truck up in somewhat dark time in the morning with the sun about to come up my headlights come on along with taillights. I push the override button to override the headlights to turn them off and it doesnt work. In my old company truck it would chime and turn off along with my moms 00 blazer is work chime and turn off the headlights. It doesnt even chime when i push the button a couple of times. Anyone know what the problem is?

There was a trick using a resistor on the auto headlights that I used on my 2000 S10 Blazer. I don't recall the specifics of it but it worked very well. The light sensor is on your dash.
I had the same problem that when I was driving to work I ran in and out of sunlight showing through the roadside trees... light on / lights off / lights on....
Good luck!!

You can use a resistor or diode to bypass the ambient light sensor (which is a photodiode). I used an LED and wired it in right at the BCM which is real easy to get to, by the steering column under the driver's dash lower finish panel. I posted up some info and a copy of the schematic HERE
