I have an 02 2500hd with a cam and supercharger. I had shorty headers and a Magnaflow single muffler with dual in dual out. I hated it. I just did a set of 1 7/8" Speed Engineering long tubes 3" pipe to an xpipe and 2 50 Series Delta Flow Flowmasters. I love it! As loud or louder then the Magnaflow outside but a lot quieter inside. Zero drone! I felt like the Speed Engineering headers were a great product for the money!

For long tubes for an s10 your usually looking at least $800-1300. I looked and realized for that money I’d be better off getting a 6.0l over my 4.8 for way more gains then some exhaust manifolds will net me. I have the eBay shorties which probably make about the same power as cast iron manifolds would if they would fit right but I’m happy with them for the $86 I spent. Fitment was good and flanges were straight and true.

and unless you're really moving some air (nitrous, blower, turbo, etc), 1 3/4" primaries flow well enough.
it's the chambered mufflers that choke it up. a well-built straight-through muffler will breathe best (pick your favorite brand... dynomax on mine; gibson on the wife's). if you want quieter, get a bigger case.

I don't think I'd worry about chambered Flowmasters choking it up.
