painting the stock wheels?

painting the stock wheels?
I saw a truck the other day that had stock rims, but they were black. My friend said that they were probably dipped. Since my truck is black, I thought it would look really good. I was wondering who in Houston would do that and for how much? Any input would be great. Thanks! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Re: painting the stock wheels?
i'd say take your spare rim off and see how that reacts to some paint.... which silverado rims do you have? the aluminum gray-ish looking ones that come on the ls, or the silver chrome looking ones? I have my spare in my garage and it so happens to be black. what side of town do you stay in? if you want you can come by and see how black would look on your truck before you do it.
maybe i will sell you the spare if you want it

I have an lt, so it has the aluminum grayish colored rims. I live off of West Rd. and the Beltway 8 by Jersey Village. NW side of town. Thanks!

Not something you may want to try, but I did this back on my old camaro. I painted my silver 5 stars white with the "duplicolor" wheel paint. It turned out great. You just rough up the surface with 400 grit or so and apply several coats letting each one dry inbetween. Mine looked fine for over 3 years and 80k when I traded it in on the truck.
