Yes I used my pressure guage threaded into the o2. Yeah 2+4 were roughly 50-70ish. I forgot to answer above that all plugs were in except the cylinder I was working on. I have one head and th intake off.

Well got the other head off and as with the other side, I see nothing wrong in the cylinders.
I have the pan loose and sitting on the crossmember. I thought I could get it out as the flex plate was in the way, so I disconnected the tranny and slid it back enough to take off the flex plate. I still can't get the pan out, it looks like its catching on the pick up tube. Any suggestions on that feat?

I personally HATE pulling an engine apart in the chassis. It's almost less work to just pull the engine out, and put it on a stand.

I know, I have the truck on a 4 post lift on one side of the garage and I have my fiero on the other side with its engine out doing a 3800sc swap. That side has a chain hoist in a rail from the ceiling. Soooo with that I need to finish the fiero so I can switch sides to be able to do that.

I had to remove the pick up tube to get the pan out. Damn chinese cast ****, what I thought was metal flakes in the pan turns out to be slag.. but since I had the pan out I scraped the bottom with my finger and got a couple pics. It looks a silverish color. Where could it be from?

That looks like milk shake when you get coolant in the oil. Are you losing coolant???

Not that i'm aware of. After the tear down some spilled down the block and into the pan while trying to remove. The oil came out black and the magnet was loaded like i've never seen with powder type shavings. I've always had some shavings like that, just wipe off with every 5000kms oil change.

Just came back from the machine shop and both heads pressure tested no problems intake or exhaust. He looked at the gaskets and couldn't see anything wrong there. We cut open the oil filter and there was a couple specs but nothing to worry about there. I wonder if my compression tester is hooped? I'm lost now, I don't want to spend the time to pull the pistons as looking at the cylinders, everything's normal. If I do have to pull the pistons, can I reuse the con rod bearings?

Any word on how to check to see if the pistons are sealing, I want to get'er back on th road. I kinda think it might have been the guage as 3 cylinders showin low, don't think so?

That would be a leakdown test, and the heads have to be installed to do it.

Have you removed the pistons yet??
