What size gas tank does the Av have? I filled it with almost 29 gallons today.
From what I remember it has a 29 gal. tank.

Don't know how you get 15 with the TBSS....but I guess I did give that LS2 a workout every time I got behind the wheel.

I forgot the Z71 is 4WD, so you have the extra weight and mass of the transfer case. If I had it to do all over again I would keep the 3.73's and get a converter to get me off the line, so my cruising RPM's would stay <2000.

New the Z-71 is rated with a 25gal tank and 5ish gal reserve if I recall. 15-16mpg sounds pretty right to me...I actually got improved mpg with the MP112, but went to premium so it didn't mean much. They are heavy pigs, but the AWD option in the push-button drive train is one of its best features...honestly never had any probs with mine until I started changing things
BTW...mine has ~50k on it and 9k of that is on new motor. R/

Nice find. Gotta love the avy. I've had mine since new in '03, she only has 17,500 miles and the last 500 was in the past week. Love it, though I just removed the MP112, efans etc. It has become our primary hauler and I now wish I would have purchased the 3/4 ton version with the 8.1. I hate like hell to get ride of it as it's been the best ride I've owned of the 50 plus vehicles and the longest I've held a rig too. I'll either go diesel or look for another white cladded 3/4 so I can use some of my mods..

again, nice find you will love it, just remember they are HEAVY !!
