thanks for the compliment; it was pretty simple to install if you have the right tools, i didnt get the extension i needed until after i got cuts and scratches all over my hands and arms and a huge bruise on my forearm thanks to the metal rods in the door.
(this was the driver side door; took me like 1 hour) with the extension the passenger door took 5-10 min max. what a difference the right tools make!!

i have the billet grille (pic on that same link)

regular drop in k&n filter
flowmaster one in, two out exhaust
(sounds mellow and not overbearing)

my next step is i found chrome z71 decals...
i will be ordering these next week sometime..
from there, who knows what i'll have the trigger finger for!

I have done my truck and a friends truck and I found that the easiest way is to cut a slit in the plastic instead of pulling it back because you can just tape up the slit instead of having to glue the edges back down. Also use a 10mm socket with a short extension on the plug nut, but on the other 2 reach through the slit and use a small 10mm box end wrench on the other 2. It is really easy like that, but like 02Z71 said watch for the window track it is a sharp mother, I luckily only got 1 tiny cut when I did mine.

I see me doing that mod in the near future. It really pisses me off when guys like you post those great looking pics and get me all hot and bothered to do something else to my Z. I hate that you GMC guys get all the good body side molding a better looking factory grills too. Guess if the local GMC dealer was as easy to deal with as the local Chevy dealer I would be driving a GMC too.

i got mine off of ebay..the seller was a pretty cool guy. i got them in about a week.

that's why i opted to get a gmc randy.
But you can always paint the center tube that holds the chevy symbol black and get a billet bowtie. that would like badarse!
(i like this scheme: minus the bumper cover for you randy) http://www.eastcoastcustoms.com/
the red truck on there)

i had a 2000 silverado before and personally i dont like the way the billet inserts look on the chevy's unless the plastic above and below it are painted body color. i like the speed grille inserts like what greg and cashdudehomie have. i love the solid black and chrome look. i think i'm going to focus on the exterior first; opposite of what i did with the silverado...

Thanks for the info 02-Z71.

Randy, I like my Chevy, but maybe because I have done a lot of work on just the body. I agree on the side molding though, chevy could have done a better job in that area. Just get your side molding painted and leave the top part chrome. Or order side molding for a GMC. Put the suburban facia on the front and paint the top part of the bumber and it looks better than the GMC(in my opinion).

I need to slap some pics up of my truck so you guys can get a idea, but need the escalade handles first!

The speed grill is for sure on the agenda, as are the Escalade handles thanks to 02-Z71's pic's. I painted my bowtie black and removed all the emblems. Since the truck is black, the side molding doesn't look too bad, but the GMC is much better imo. I would totally remove the side molding, but that would probably lead to many, many dings which would drive me crazy.
