The problem is in the transmission, not the tune. I've read up and played with the tuning of the 80E's a lot, and unless I'm missing something, it sounds like a clutch/converter problem. Then again, I didn't catch if it seems to fall off between gears, or just all-out.? You don't just see a tune go haywire, where it works one day, then doesn't the next. I'm willing to bet that Flaco isn't clueless, either. Flaco's probably just busy and doesn't want to mess with it. If I were you, I'd drive my *** up to his shop and sit. I'd sit there and not leave until he took the time to talk with me.

I would guess its something in the tune. The tcc and tqmgt on these 6 speeds is ridiculous, lots of settings that can make it act funny

im hoping its a tune problem and i would go sit my *** in his shop if it wasnt 500 miles away ahaha i called him twice and he just doesnt give me any answers its rediculous i know he knows his **** but im not going to drive all the way over there if hes gonna act so clueless i even asked him if he had records of the build and he said his bookeepers might and i asked him for them and he said he didnt have them i know whoever built this truck with him spent a nice chunk of change with him and for him to just act so stupid about it pisses me off and shows how bad his customer service is i know hes good but if thats how he treats paying customers i would rather take my truck somewhere else not to mention i work at an auto shop just not a performance shop so i would rather find out what it is and fix it myself rather than drive 500 miles just for him to say idk

It's all about the money, nowadays. Why tend to you, when he can work on a $20K+ turbo truck during the same time he's spend with you? That's probably how he's thinking, and that's a shame. The guy knows what he's doing, so I'm sure he could tell you exactly what's wrong. People just don't care anymore. Good luck with it.

Get the tune checked out first, just to be safe. If that's not the problem, you might as well drop the trans.
