Default Power Steering Pump Belt Squeaking

Group,
When ever I turn one direction the belt on my P/S pump slips. I changed the belts and checked the fluid. Even though the belts were bad, the slip is still the same. And I went with the best Dayco belt they had. The harder/faster I turn the louder it is, but I have to have the radio off to hear it so its on a small scale. Also when I turn really fast it seems that it is starving for fluid. Is this common? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks,

Mine just started doing this a few months back and I've been trying to figure out what the problem might be. Not sure if it matters but what direction are you turning when it slips? Mine seems to make the squeak when ever I make a tight left turn at slow speeds.

anyone consider it might be time for a new belt? If you are driving the **** out of your truck, high RPMS and such, that takes a toll on the belt.

Well, I haven't actually traced it to the belt yet. That's why I was trying to find out if our problems were the same, than I'll definately consider the new belt. I won't say that I take it easy on my truck but as a rule I don't drive it that hard on a daily basis.

I put new belts on, the higher quality daycos. And I'm pretty sure it happens only when I turn left also, but its not just in tight turns. I could be turning right and bringing the wheels back to the left and it will squeak. How many miles are on ya'lls trucks? 90k on mine.

Check your belt tensioner and make sure it's ok.
