Default Power windows goin slower.

Just recently I've noticed my power windows on both doors roll up slower and slower. Does anyone know of a quick way to fix that?

Thanks.

Replace the window regulator. $80 bucks each and about an hour to install.

Try a little spray silicone on the window runs first before you replace the part. The regulators are a common problem, but the cable usually snaps when they go bad. I've been using silicone on my window runs as a band aid for replacing the regulator for about 3 years now...every time one or both of the windows start to slow down, I clean the window run (rubber part that the window rides in) with a rag, then spray some silicone with a straw down the channels, and on a rag and wipe down the exposed rubber. So far, the windows have returned to a quicker speed every time (about every 3-4 months). You're gonna get some residue on the window itself, but it will come off with some windex.

PS..the window run is the rubber part around the window...don't put anything on the belt mouldings (the felt type weatherstrips on the door and door panel), as that will leave a residue that will coat the window and drive you nuts.

Going to have to try the spray myself. Ever since I replaced my passenger side regulator it has been really slow and the colder it is the slower it is about snail pace at freezing. Also how would one go about rewiring it?

Yessir, and wipe it up and down with a rag...you'll notice that the rag will probably turn black from grime and grit. After doing that once, give it another spray and leave it on there without wiping (except for any excess that works it's way on to the window or body...don't worry though, it won't harm your paint)

I don't think that re-wiring it is the answer...you'd need thicker guage wire, bigger fuses, and probably stronger window motors that can handle the added current without burning out...not to mention, I'm not sure what the extra current flow would do to the BCM (might let the smoke out of the box).
