Programming your Key Fob
Found this information and figured i'd share. I have yet to test this process so if someone would do a test and post up the results that'd be great.
1. Close all vehicle doors.
2. Insert the key into the ignition.
3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver’s door panel-continue to hold down until instructed
to release in step 9.
4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in fairly rapid succession.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine).
6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
8. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
9. Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors automatically.
10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until the door locks and unlocks.
This step may take up to 30 seconds.
11. Repeat step 10 NOW for each additional transmitter (including any existing transmitters).
12. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

This does work. But not on every truck you try it on. It's called the "shortcut" keyfob mate. I got a Tech here at work that does this all the time. The reccomened way is to use the Tech II and put it in Porgram mode and the "viola'"...there you go. But in short, you can use the method you just described.

I have a 04 base model truck with power locks, doors and mirrors. However I would like keyless entry. Can I add a fob to a truck that didn't come with it originally with this procedure? I would like keyless entry so my wife doesn't scratch my doors trying to fit the keys in the dark.

Yea you'll need aftermarket. But Crutchfield has got to be one of the most expensive companies i've ever seen.
As soon as i get a Remote start purchased I'll be putting my after market keyless entry up for sale. Just don't know when yet. I have a tendency to just Wing it.
