I am Starting to gather parts to build my 408 and i am trying to decide what size turbo i should use? Im not on a budget but i also dont want to blow money and go over kill either. My goal is to get 700hp to the wheels on pump gas this is not a dd it is weekend toy. I was thinking pt76 but was told by a few people that i would run out of turbo past about 6000rpms and i have also heard it is plenty enough turbo for what i want.
It will be going through a 80e with a yank pt3600 and i will be changing gears from 430s to idk yet.

What do yall think?

The 76 would be enough for your goals, its been done before... Would spool quick as ****. But the 88 would have more flexibility should you (when you) want to turn it up.

Safe is less dependent on the turbo and more on the tune. Shift points will depend on more than just your displacement and choice of turbo..

Im very new to boost so im doing a lot of research and asking a lot of questions. Just trying to be safe as i can be. What A/R would you suggest 1.0 or bigger?

How much do you care about spool characteristics? If you want it fast and 700hp really is your ultimate goal, get the 76 on a T4, but if you want more and dont mind a slower spool, get the 88 on a T6.

I'd prob go PT76 on ~370 CI, and 80~88mm on 400+ CI if you want to spin past 6k. A BW S480 wouldn't be a bad choice for a mild 408..

Im probably going to go with the pt88 kit from kbracing96. That way if i get the urge to turn it i can! If i go with the pt88 what A/R would you guys suggest i have a yank pro 3600 converter and i really dont want to change it if i dont have to. I also do not dd this truck and want boost to come in fairly quick?
