Default pvc valve.... ?

I was wondering if anyone has heard of them failing or having issues? my trucks been smoking alittle and the guy at the dealership said " without a diag" that it could be the pvc valve and that my truck " 04 gmc 1500" has been known to have issues with them. also 2 other guys around town that own shops mentioned the pvc valve? so i was jw if anyone has heard of this and if so what one there running. thanks for the help guys....

Its possible. They're very cheap and easy to replace so you might as well. But also how many miles are on your motor and when does it smoke? under load or on start up? what color smoke? what's it smell like? Any noticeable amount of oil loss? Etc...

well today i fired the truck back up when we got back into town and a big cloud of smoke again... so i took the truck into town and got a quart of oil but i check the oil and i looked fine. so i pulled the cap and oil tube and it looked like condensation, but both me and my roomie smelled it and it smelled like gas?

I've been having issues with mine too. While digging around under the hood looking for a t reason why the truck wouldn't start (turned out to be the temp gauge was unplugged) I noticed the breather hose on the drivers side valve cover had popped off. There was a little bit of **** in there that must have fallen in. I scraped s much as I could out of the hole but do I need to pull the valve cover to clean it? I Don't think it was of for more than a week....
No thread jack intended
Thanks

NA no worries. Truck starts and once the smoke clears runs fine. I put a hose clamp on that hose as well but still smokes? Idk...

I noticed the same thing :S and the threads on the spark plugs were covered in oil. Think i'm just gonna pick up a new pcv valve on Monday and give that a shot.

Why not change the plugs while you're under there.. just precautionary.
