Default Quesion about my Magnacharger supplied Superchips programmer

When I got my custom tune I did not load the stock program back into the PCM before I took it out. Is the Superchips tuner unusable now? I would like to sell it or something, but I'm worried that all it has is my stock 5.3 tune loaded now.

not to jack your thread but i'm in the same boat as you.
when i sent my pcm core to nelson performance, i forgot to return it back to stock and my hypertech was still on it. i'd like to sell it b/c i have no use for it. i wish i could find an 03' truck around here to see if it still works.

Those tuners are programed and locked to your VIN# and PCM...

so what your saying is that... when you get your new pcm from nelson, wait4me, etc... they flash your vin # in it right? so if your new computer has your vin # still in it, you should be able to deprogram the handheld tuner right? sorry for the ?'s. just trying to build up knowledge... thanks

no, I am saying that if you have a superchips programmer from Manga Charger it is only good for the vehicle it is programmed for.

When you send in your PCM for a mail order tune, the tuner uses your vin#, and flashes the PCM with the latest info from GM. Also, it keeps them from having to load all the factory info by hand. Unfortunately, if you left the Superchips tune in it, I think it is lost.
