Question about GMPP Lsx block
Why is it that I'm noticing more people going with the standard deck height Lsx cast iron block instead of the tall deck version? Is there something wrong with the tall deck version that I'm not aware of?

The Tall deck does not allow the use of any stock intake manifold, and thusly requires a sheet metal one. So for the people of the street you see running them it might be to keep the cost down or to pass some sort of smog check. Also there are racing classes that require stock intakes, and that will account for some of the racers. Plus a FAST intake is what $500 now, or as LS-6 $150-250 used I think? If not sheet metal manifolds start at $1500 for the less established stuff. Then you'll need more expensive and less available speed parts to finish up the install.

im pretty sure they are available , also in some cases custom headers will be required as well as the custom intake manifold.
i would have gone with one , but didnt plan on using a sheet metal intake until my shortblock was done.
