Question about stall converter
I have a 99 silverado 5.3 with a 4L65E and it has about 84k. I was interested in getting a 2200-2500 stall converter, but a guy told me he thought it might make me have tranny problems. I don't want any tranny problems, but i really want that stall. So I thought I would get some more opinions. I installed the vette servo, bigger boost valve, and a tranny cooler.
Thanks

trever, im sure you know this but just to clarify, EVERY auto trans has a torque converter, but most of us put in a torque converter with a higher stall rating, commonly called a stall
with a tranny cooler, you'll be fine. most go with a 2600-3000 and a few are tryin as high as 3600

Another Q would be is, where is your power output? I haven't heard of any consistant issues other than "white smoke syndrome" associated with installing a Torque Converter.
However, if you are high on the power output scale, then you are on borrowed time with the tranny.
Nothing directly related to installing a TC.
