Default Questions before i try to install Fuel Pressure gauge

Well i thought i had to get the adapter to screw in after removing the schrader valve but that autometer Phantom II i ordered came with this little gold adapter here is that what i needed?

Second, black is the ground wire, now the red and white wires. It says for the white wire to connect to a dash lighting or switchable 12v light source? whats the best place to hook that wire up at?
Then the red wire to a switched +12v source? best place for this one?

Can i just use fuses to put these wires? which ones? a fuse won't throw too much juice to the gauge and damage it will it?

Sorry guys, when it comes to wires/electrical **** 1. im clueless 2. i hate it. So i have to ask detailed questions.

You can connect the black wire to any ground..
The white and red wires you can tie those together and run them to the radio fuse.. Thats the easiest way to explain it.

also, to connect the Sensor to the fuel rail.... the fuel rail is a -6an male... and the sensor is a 1/8" npt.. im lookin for an adapter, gimme a min

Here is a link for the adapter you will need. It works nice.

You will need this cap also. With this setup, you will still have access to your fuel rail by just unscrewing the cap.

Do you have a 12 volt circuit tester? If so, just look for an ignition source and a connection that goes hot with the lights (Fuse box in the cab, driver's side). I am not exactly sure which ones I used. I did this a long time ago. The connections were easy to find. I believe that the connection for the lights is a small male connection in the fuse box. Almost looks like the male end of a mini-fuse. The gauge is not going to draw a lot of power, so you wont have any issues using power from another cicuit. You can use fuse taps for the main power connection to make life easier. I would fuse the connections you are adding also. I hope I helped you out. Don't sweat installing this. It is straight forward. Nothing too difficult.

got it installed. Had a friend come wire it as he works at a shop and is good with that stuff. He ended up taking the dash off and running it under the steering wheel area to some other wire. Now just have the other bundle of wire ziptied under the hood with that little plug in on the end of them waiting for that schrader rail to 1/8NTPF adapter to come in so i can get that on and connect the sender and DONE.

Having a friend do it will work too. Sounds like you are just about ready to use your new gauge. Enjoy!
