Ran 18 Times At Track

Ran 18 Times At Track
A local club in Columbus rented out Norwalk Raceway Monday. For $35 I ran as many times that I wanted. It was great since I just went from the HPPIII to the Predator. Got to really play with the shift points and the other trans settings. In the beginning I was running 14.7 - 92mph. I was kind of disappointed because, at an other track I was running 14.6 - 93mph with HPPIII. They said, that at this track I would see my best times. It is a better track than National Trails, that is what they say?!. So after about 10 runs running 14.7s and slipping off the line. I tried different things, launching, burnouts, trans settings. I finally ran an all time best - 14.421 at 94.77mph with a 60' 2.149. I was happy! It was just a great day. Ran 18 times!? Other track I could only get in about 2 to 4 times.
I also bought some electric LS1 fans off a fbody guy. New project!
It was nice to meet you T76Y2KSS. It was fun to see you truck launch.

Re: Ran 18 Times At Track
It is hard to say if it really made me faster. I was on two different tracks, a month apart. With the HPPIII I ran 14.612 at 92.96mph with a 2.154 60'. That was with the shift point up, but can't remember how much.
Monday the setting were:
- 1-2 rpm - 4700, 2-3 rpm 4700
- Shift Speed, 1-2 -25%, 2-3 -25%
- Line Pressure, 1-2 +17, 2-3 +17
I think that was it?! I think I could have done better, more tweaking! I didn't take the line pressure all the way up, I didn't know if +25 would be to much. As far as what didn't work, nothing really, I started low with settings and went up with them. Think I could have kept bumping the numbers up for better and better times. Temperature and track were changing. I Will probably have to start over next time.
I will say that when I went from the HPPIII to the Predator, I didn't drive the truck without the stock programming in-between programmers, and I could feel the difference. I think the Predator made my truck run smoother, just an all round smooth feel. If that make sense?
If any one has pics of LS1 fans on there truck, I would love to see them.

Re: Ran 18 Times At Track
As for the launching and burnout's. I found with my setup I got my best 60' times by going around the water box and doing a small brake stand and letting off the brake once they started to spin. I would roll to the light and stall till my tires would barely turn and let off just a little. Then I would just mash it! I would only spin about 4 or 5 feet. Now that I think of it I could have probably feathered it of the line a little.
