Default Ran a Gen 1 Lightning

Me and my friend were riding around tonight and were crusing down the street when all the sudden a Black Gen 1 Lightning pulls up besides us and revs his engine at us. Playing along, I rev back. We were pacing each other for a while and finally caught a light. The light turned green and I rolled into it, other wise I would lose traction, he is spinning for sec and then grabs traction. From about 40 I had 1/2 a truck on him, then from 40-60 he pulls me by about a nose length, then from about 60-80 I gain back another 1/2 truck length on him and would have kept pulling, but let out not wanting to go too fast. We both catch the next light and he asks me what I have in it, I say just a 4.8L with a tune, intake and exhaust He was by himself while I had a passenger and just filled my tank up with gas. I thought it was a awesome race, two cool trucks going at it! Also, he had exhaust, but not sure what else he had done, he had some stickers on his back window but I could make them out.

I miss my '95 Lightning. I'll get another one, though. Those trucks are fun.

Nice run! A lot of folks joke about the 4.8l guys, but I'm hearing a lot of kills and good runs out of these guys lately. I sometimes miss my 4.8. Performance and 19 mpg.

351W Ls are turds untill you put a blower or turbo infront of the intake! lol. but i still have a fondness for them for some reason. the sound pretty awesome with headers and a set of mufflers though.

yea I ran a white one when I still had paper tags on my truck and I thought for sure it was going to drag me by the sound of it, but unfortunately it went down and too bad his girlfriend was in his truck and not mine

Mine ran just as quick as my truck I have now. It got nearly the same mileage, was very comfortable, dead-nuts reliable, and it handled very well. I'll get another one, someday.
