Default Read a article on the Quad Cab SRT10

Well to be honest with you guys I was a skeptic at first. I heard rumors of the SRT10 quad cabs running 15's in the quarter mile. I thought that had to be bullshit, a 500 hp truck only hitting 15? WTF. So at the Grocery store today I went to the magazine rack reading while my mom (I'm still at college and live at home) was shopping. There it was the almighty Quad Cab Srt 10, performance 0-60 6.9 and the 1/4 was 15.3!!!!! Even the automatic, and weight a 500 hp truck should run alot faster than that. I agree that dodge hit a homerun with the RCSB 6 speed SRT10 but I think they fell quite short on the Quad cab. I just cant wait to pull up next to one

What is the weight on one of those things? Regular cabs are close to 5,000 lbs, I believe.

I cant remember the mph, I think it was around 92 or so. I have heard rumors that 15's is what they ran becauses of the automatic and weight. I will report back on this tomorrow or later, I will try to go back to the store and find the magazine article. But a 500 hp truck should at least run low 14's even to quad cab.

Ive kinda lost a little faith in "Truckin" since I read in the back section (with all the 1/4 times)....that a stock chevy ss pickup runs a 16.1 1/4 mile and 0-60 they have listed as 7.5 seconds. I havent had my truck to the track but it never was a 16 second truck I can assure you that.

Sport Truck just ran a 13.85 with one of the new quad cab SRT-10's so I think whoever hit the 15 probably sucked ***.

Those are some pretty pitiful times to have 500 HP under the hood... Can't wait to line up with one of those myself!
