Rear end shifted 1 inch

Re: Rear end shifted 1 inch
Your rear end wasn't alligned properly when the drop was done Not sure how this could be off an inch since the perches on the axle shafts pretty much line the rear end up equally when bolting them back onto the leaf springs. Maybe get under there with a measuring tape and make sure the actual rear end is alligned the same on both sides. I highly doubt it, but maybe your rims got ordered with different backspacing (i doubt it, but might as well measure while you're under there)
Drive shaft--If your angle is that far off, get a carrier bearing(sp?) support kit for dropped trucks. I know a 4'' drop in the rear qualifies for this mod. Belltech makes a good one. What it does is it moves the carrier bearing up closer to the floor pan as to decrease harsh pinion angles. Some guys also put washers under the tranny to decrease that angle too. Pretty much stare down the driveshaft from the rearend to the tranny and make sure it looks straight. Taping a string from the rear end pumpkin to the tranny tail shaft helps in seeing any angle problems. Hope this helped kind of and it wasn't too long to read.

Rear end shifted 1 inch
I have a 2000 long bed standard cab Silverado. Last September I put on a 4" rear lowering kit and the next day got wide wheels and tires. I noticed the rear tire on the passenger side stuck out about an inch and the driver side wheel tucks in the same amount. The lowering kit was blamed. I had a noise and it turned out to be the front u-joint gone and seal on the trans. The dealer told me I tore it up lowering it, so I lifted it to stock and no change. The dealer checked it again saying no problem found. I was mad so last week got it to another dealer same no problem found. I think it was BigKidd that posted some pictures of his truck with 18" wheels and his looked perfect. Anyone have an idea what to check? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the thoughts. I did not give all the drop info above. I used 2" shackles and 2" hangers, the srings were never loosened just the bolts through the bushings the kit is off now, truck is completely stock. I have checked the wheels first they're good. The shift is side to side of the axle. The rubber stops on the frame don't center with the stops of the axle. I am sure the driveshaft's not straight the pumkin in the rear is over one inch to the pas side from trans end. Wondering if the bushings could shift in the springs or can the stock springs be bent. Measuring doesn't point to bad part.
