Default Replacing the sensor for "Low Fuel Light" issues

im going to do the best i can in remembering each step.

mods not sure where this goes, please move it to the proper place.

this is not a very hard task either.

First find a place to access your gas tank, i have a buddy that works at a shop so i got the lift treatment. but there are 3 hex screws that hold the neck of the gas tank to the bed. remove those. there was 8 bolts that held the bed on, crawl around and take them off.

next remove the 2 plugs and 3 hoses, be gentle when dealing with gas lines. they might have a little clip, i think it was just a pull off. then there is the round plate/giant nut if you will that you will spin off to get the sending unit out. we had to have the help of a hammer.

**watch out for excess fuel**

next pull the sending unit out and pour the excess fuel where ever you want.

here is what the sensor unit looks like. the rows measure the level where as the little "teeth" get worn off over time.

it unhooks from the whole unit. there are a couple of plugs (simple to disconnect), pull the floating arm off. make sure you use the new clips and make sure the are secure.

here is the new sensor.

put it back together the way you took it off.

i got the part off ebay for like $20 - $25 i really cant remember i ordered it a year ago. torque wrench can probably get the part number.

if i can think of anything else i will edit. any questions feel free to ask.
