The new location will be right in front of the water pump with the A/A intercooler up front in the grill. The kit will use electric fans. I wasn't really on a site seing tour, so I didn't take a camera. Kurt is considering becoming a sponsor here with the release of the Silverado Turbo kits. The kits will include fuel upgrades and tuning as part of the kit as far as I know. More to come from Kurt (427).

What about tranny upgrades? I've seen guys blow the stock SS tranny with just a magnacharger. I hate automatics.

The truck Todd rode in has a modified 4L65 in it with a higher stall speed. The trans mod's would not be part of the kit.

How "modified" are you talking? Is it a one-off NASA / GM joint venture design or does it contain parts that a common person could order?

Big Tex, I had a guy in Ohio (Carl Rossler) go thru and upgrade the trans to make it hold up better. We also left the stock torque managment on the gearchange to further protect it. Anyone can get the upgrades we used.

Kurt - How about you guys make a 4L80E conversion for the Silverado SS. I'm guessing the output shaft on the trans would have to be custom to fit the AWD transfercase??

Kurt, you get me an output shaft on a 4L80E that will mate with the NVG149 transfer case, and I'll buy it. I'll take care of the tuning, electronics, driveshaft lengths and trans supports. I can probably find quite a few other who will too.

I hear Rossler makes a good transmission. Let us know if it gives you any issues.

Kurt, what kind of power are we going to be talking here? I'd really like to know more about these setups.

We have done all our testing on a engine dyno. With a 4.8 in stock form we will sell a kit that has 450hp 540tq that is the smallest engine we tested. On a 6 litre with all forged internals and ported heads we made 730hp 900tq and the turbo was to small, 67mm. We have not tested a stock 5.3 yet, but we will.
The truck that Reckless rode in makes 600hp 660tq (from my memory).
Kurt
