I dunno. Salt is some bad stuff. I am a Geology major and we went to a salt mine for a field trip. 1500 feet below the surface, it is hot as hell and zero humidity. All of the heavy equipment was not rusted at all and had abselutely no paint on it. Humidity with salt is a damn good way to corrode carbon steel. What im getting at is a mixture between salt and humidity can tear some stuff up. I dont know if that wax has any affect on it. maybe somebody else will chime in.

yes, i bought my truck new in jan 04 and by that summer i had a tiny rust spot on the back bumper. I made them replace the whole bumper, they wanted to polish it off, I said ,its new, so replace it!, dont let these ******* give you any ****, that's what the 6 year corrosion warr. is for. BTW, SALT IS BULL ****! thats why i have a rusted bucket for a beater, why dont these *** holes just use sand.?

Mine is starting to stain, the rear is showing some bubbling. The rust starts in between the bumper and the trim, or between the bumper and the mounts, where washing can't get to. I don't believe any roads could be saltier than they are here in Chicagoland.

Saw a bit of brown on the outside edges of the frt. bumper on my 03 a about 9 mos. after I got it . Crawled underneath and looked at the inside of it and there was a good bit of rust. They dont treat the under sides of these bumpers with anything. Dealer ordered me a new one and had body shop paint the inside of it. They didnt hesitate to make it right. Take it back and get it replaced and make sure its painted on the inside.
