seat pad swapping

Default seat pad swapping

Has anyone every swaped seat pads between different years of trucks like say i have 2002 GMC sierra seats but want to swap the seat pads for seats out of a 2006 silverado then cover them with katzkins is this possible to do between seat frames and seat components?

I wouldn't think the pad frame changed between those years. I would say do it.

i wouldnt think they would change seat frames either. anyone with knowledge of it being done before?

the frames are the same but all the foam padding underneath is different. a 99-02 cover wont fit on a 03-06 seat.


either get the whole 06 setup seat setup or buy katzkins for yours

thanks for the input but it neither confirms or dennies my question if the seat pad cushions just swap from seat frame to seat frame?.....

yes i think you can swap the cushions from frame to frame so you can then use the different covers. but if you have both available why wouldn't you just swap the whole seat itself.

i dont have both... i have a 2002 GMC seat i want it to look like newer truck seat if i bought the proper seat pads/katzkins to cover them.

why not just get the katzkins to fit your current seats and pads.

cause they look stupid... have you seen 2002 gmc seats... terrible pattern in the cushion pad. with two tone katzkins they look even worse.

When you find out how much that foam costs, you will probably look for some used seats.
