Next time this happens go to gmpartsdirect.com and buy the part yourself! Or if anyone needs Left and Right side i have one of each that I dont need anymore! I took that whole section of the wiring harness out (rear view mirror temp sensor, air bag sensor(s), i think thats all thats on that section of the harness if i rememeber off the top of my head.
My dash throws the codes but i am hoping to get them all deleted from the system completely.

I suppose that shops are afraid of SRS concerns for liability reasons, but the airbag system is just another electrical system, and a pretty simple one at that IMO. There's always a code(s) and a procedure to follow...if you have the right tools and literature (service manuals), it's a piece of cake...if you're good at electrical diagnosis Most shops just want gravy like brakes and timing belts...don't wanna mess with no real diagnostic problems no sir
