Default Silverado instrument cluster

Has anyone bought the silverado instrument cluster with transmission temperature gauge? How much was it?

Do I conclude correctly that the sensor is there because the message center will light up a message of trans hot as necessary?

Is it a matter of just changing the cluster and inputing the mileage?

you can get an escalade cluster for around 250-300 new. all you have to do is swap them out.

Since I like the standard Silverado cluster appearance better, could I conclude the silverado cluster to cost less than the Cad?

99's require some sort of modification to make clusters from other years work. I think that if you just swap in a cluster from a different year you get an air bag light or something like that. I got my Denali cluster from JP Customs for $275, it comes already modified so it's just plug and play. If you check their website you'll notice that there's a different part# for the 99's as opposed to other years.

is possible to just add the tranny temp gauge to a regular cluster? then i don't have to worry about changing the mileage or the airbag light?
