As you may know, I was recently rear-ended, in an accident that bent my frame. After 3 trips back to the body shop, two sessions on the frame puller, and quite the headache, the Silverado 1500 is back once again.
I've been in and out of rental cars, and I've only owned my 99 for a few months now. I'm trying to figure out if what I'm experiencing is "normal" or within the realm of normal, so maybe you can all help me:
1: If you let off of your steering wheel on a straight stretch of highway, or any road, does the truck tend to drift right? Mine does slowly, almost as if following the road. However, it was something I didn't notice in any of the rentals I was in (all front wheel drive compacts).
2: Do you notice any "whine" when coasting? Again, I'm noticing a not-obtrusive whine in the truck. It's there, but not too loud. It's been about 2 months since the accident, so I can't remember how it sounded before. Plus I may just be very observant at this point...

It's been aligned twice, so says the repair man. The whine is somewhere between a drone and low-pitch noise. It's especially noticable at speeds above 20mph when coasting.

take it too a parking lot. walk about umm... 50ft away. with your wheels turned straight. look to see if your rear and front wheels are in line. i have seen cars that have had frame damage. they look like they are driving sideways.
