I don't care how far that race was the SS was PULLING on that reg cab hemi. The Hemi guy must've not had the trans wire pull mod done.
I think those reg cab Dodges are pretty heavy compared to ours though, something like 5000lb maybe?

They were running the full 1/4 it was just the camera guy was too far back. Looked like close races to me. The Hemi owner said he won 7 out of 10 races with the SS. He just didn't post the 3 he lost. Don't ask me why they had to race 10 times though?
And yes, the SS was pulling at the end. Most Hemi's in the trucks don't run alot of trap speed due to the LARGE grill and tranny gearing issues. My truck is a Quad cab and ran 14.9's at 89mph. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't stock SS's run 90 to 92 mph?
As for the horsepower thing I think we all know GM is a tad conservative on ratings where Dodge's numbers are very close to being overrated on some with the bad drivetrain loss.
As far as the vids I give them an "E" for effort.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I'll put my 2 cents in for the hell of it. In my opinion both of those trucks are lame. First you got the SS, 45 grand or whatever for a truck that can hardly beat a 25 grand hemi, and yet it deserves the "SS" badge? Then you got the hemi, ugly *** looking thing with a overrated powerplant. That's great and all that the SS keeps up with the hemi, even though it's hp and weight disadvantage. But, to be honest with you, I could give a rats *** what the hp rating is on either truck, I'd rather spend $25k for a truck that would keep up with a $45k, IF I didn't think the hemi looked like some machomobile. Give me a $20k rcsb silverado, and I'll dump $10-15k worth the mods, and you can have your pig of an SS.
