I'd say probably a no go. When I had my 04 crew cab 5.3 I was able to run some mustangs. I had the same cam as you the 216/220, but I was running a hughes performance 2500 stall torque converter and it was just barely enough of a stall for that cam. With full bolt-ons, ASM LT's that cam and converter, and 3.90 gears I was running 14.2's consistantly in 85-90 degree weather. Would have been a 13 second truck easy in the cooler weather. Oh and this was with some decent weight reduction done.
I almost pulled an 01-03 Cobra my last run ever on the truck. I was sleeping at the light and she pulled me by about 4 lengths of the light, at the traps I had closed to within a car length.
I'd say get a 3000 stall converter and you could stand a chance.

I daily drive my 04 gt 5 speed. 100%stock and runs 14.27(average in the 14.3's). thats powershifting, no gear missing, and shitty 60' times (2.3-2.4). If he has good traction and good shifting i think he has you. Im not talking smack cause im a mustang owner, cause id rather be driving my truck beating mustangs! LOL
