Mechanics are just simply 'parts-replacers', while technicians are schooled professionals. BTW, I also run 4's at 200+, but for some reason Im having traction issues off the line

Ok, I have to add this...
One of my buddy's had a SBC replace in his full size blazer. The thing was leaking oil like crazy about a week later. He took it back to the shop and the oil pan was about to fall OFF!. They saw the new tires he had just put on and said "oh, you just out those tires on? The old tires must have been out of balance and shook the oil pan bolts loose"

the timing chains on those 4.6's are pressed on, no keys, not any real good timing marks to speak of LOL... its a bit tricky to get one perfect. BUT.... why the hell was he messing with the timing if he was just swapping a motor!?!?!
being a Technician at a dealership, I deal with these people all the time... I had a customer today tell me his 08 Mustang ran 10's (1/4 mile) STOCK the day he bought it. I just turned and walked towards my tool box
I didnt even bother telling him my stock looking truck sitting right behind my bay door would make anything on our lot look silly
